Picture… Descending the stairs to the children’s education space under the fellowship hall you see blue… like the sea. You’re going underwater, like a fish. You’re in Splash! Long ago, disciples identified themselves secretly with the sign of a fish. Splash! uses a modification of the Jesus fish symbol to tell our story. We’re all one big school of fish following Jesus.
Splash! kids spend time alternating between two great experiences during the year. Smaller homeroom-style groups that foster friendships while kids explore faith. And special “SCUBA dives” which take them to a new, exciting interactive experience each week for a period of 3-5 weeks exploring a Bible story in depth. Splash! is a fun, imaginative way for kids to dive into an exploration of faith and follow Jesus.
Why… Like the prophet Samuel, kids are called to serve God and to follow too. Splash! isn’t simply about teaching kids the faith so they can grow up and believe, but inviting them to follow Christ and to experience and share God’s amazing love now.
Lives Are Changed… All Splash! kids receive a special “Splash!” wristband at the beginning of the year. One girl says she never wants to take it off.
Connect… Splash! happens twice on Sunday mornings and allows families to attend worship with their kids for the first 15-20 minutes of Horizon services and our Families@Festival service or an entire service in addition to Splash!
